The Jewish War Veterans Department of Illinois was honored to be invited to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center’s annual Humanitarian Awards Dinner, March 7, 2023 held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Chicago.
The Department has been holding its monthly meetings at the museum, in Skokie, Illinois, for the past several years. JWV has partnered with the IHM&EC on some of its projects, notably The Phantom Army of WWII.
Dana Bash, CNN’s chief political correspondent, was MC of the evening. Awards were presented to Northern Trust, Peter Kadens, and Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich.
During the event the Jewish veterans were honored for their service. Six JWV members were present, representing three of the local posts within the Department of Illinois. Also honored were several WWII veterans and holocaust survivors.
The Department thanks the museum for including JWV and all Jewish veterans in its annual Humanitarian Awards evening.
